Fancy working for an award winning business? Do you want to work in a kitchen that creates innovative and delicious food you can be proud of? Well, here at the Liberation Group, we pride ourselves in giving our chefs the freedom to create awesome, seasonal dishes whilst providing an industry leading and award winning environment to ‘get your cook on’!

We are looking for a Kitchen Assistant/Porter to join the family. Located close to the Central Market, right in the heart of St Helier, The Halkett provides a relaxed and comfortable place to eat, drink and be entertained. Serving up a menu which combines traditional British dishes with an essence of further afield, there’s something for everyone.

You’ll just love The Halkett Pub & Eating House, with its eclectic mix of traditional and modern décor and furnishings. The pub offers a large selection of continental beers and lagers, as well as a range of cask conditioned ales. If beers aren’t your thing, then there’s also a brilliant wine list and an exciting new Gin Bar serving up a wide range of gins and even some fizz!

You Will Be

  • A Team Player. The brigade is a close knit bunch and you will be someone who helps raise the spirits of your team.
  • The Heartbeat of the kitchen. Without you, we cannot cook and deliver our amazing food. You will ensure the chefs have what they need and the kitchen is spick and span.
  • Passionate. Everything we do is from the heart and we genuinely get a buzz from seeing our customers enjoy themselves. You will love food and play a part in making sure everything we serve is made with love!
  • Yourself. We are an eclectic bunch and want individuals not robots.
  • Ambitious. We run an industry leading training scheme and love a bit of internal promotion! Are you a Head Chef of the future? If so, we will help and support you on your journey.

What’s in it for you?

  • The chance to work for an award winning business. We are 2 times (yes, 2 times!) winners of the Best Food Offering at the National Publican Awards and have recently been voted the Best Managed Pub Company for 2021!
  • The opportunity to work for a diverse company and get experience in a range of kitchens and menus.
  • Access to industry leading training and development.
  • A competitive hourly rate.
  • A business who cares about you. We offer an Employee Assistance Program that is there 24/7 to provide you with support.
