About the Role
Make a genuine difference in the lives of young people by shaping safe, supportive and engaging learning environments across The BUSY Schools. As our Work Health & Safety (WHS) Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in implementing The BUSY Group’s WHS systems, delivering training, and supporting school leaders to embed strong safety practices across multiple campuses. You’ll be the go‑to WHS specialist for The BUSY Schools, helping Principals, teachers and support teams create safe, positive and compliant learning spaces. You’ll deliver training, support investigations, strengthen safety culture and ensure our campuses meet the highest standards of care and compliance. Your work directly contributes to safer experiences for students, staff and visitors — every single day.
What You’ll Be Doing
- WHS support across campuses — provide practical safety guidance, work closely with Principals and leadership teams, and help embed effective WHS practices.
- Risk management & compliance — coordinate and conduct risk assessments, ensure compliance with WHS legislation, child safeguarding and duty of care requirements, and support safe work procedures.
- Training, inductions & safety briefings — deliver WHS training tailored to school environments and facilitate inductions for staff, contractors and visitors.
- Incident, hazard & wellbeing support — assist with incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions, while promoting psychosocial safety and wellbeing initiatives.
- Safety culture & continuous improvement — conduct inspections and audits, foster a positive safety culture and support ongoing improvement across campuses.
- WHS administration & reporting — maintain accurate WHS records, data and reporting, and provide administrative support to ensure smooth WHS team operations.
Regular travel across The BUSY Schools campuses, with some intrastate travel as required. This role can be based at our Southport office or at any of our BUSY Schools.

What You’ll Bring
- Experienced in school‑based WHS with strong knowledge of legislation, duty of care, child safeguarding and risk management.
- Confident WHS trainer skilled in delivering inductions, safety briefings and training tailored to education environments.
- Collaborative communicator who works effectively with Principals, teachers and support staff, using sound judgement and maintaining confidentiality.
- Organised and detail‑focused with strong administrative skills, accurate reporting and the ability to support incident and hazard processes.

- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel between campuses.
