Description

Lead life‑changing initiatives that prevent youth homelessness and strengthen community futures

The BUSY Foundation is launching a bold new chapter — and we’re looking for a Program Lead who wants to build something that genuinely changes lives.

This is your opportunity to design, grow and champion innovative, evidence‑informed programs that keep young people connected to education, community and safe pathways into the future. Starting within The BUSY Schools and expanding into broader communities, you’ll shape prevention and early‑intervention models that make a measurable impact where it matters most.

In this highly hands‑on role, you’ll take big ideas and turn them into practical, scalable support models that reduce homelessness risk, strengthen wellbeing and build long‑term pathways into education, skills and employment.

You’ll lead the development of frameworks that support:

  • Early identification of vulnerable and at‑risk young people
  • Wraparound support and coordinated case planning
  • Family and community engagement
  • Mental health support pathways
  • Education, training and employment transitions

You’ll work closely with BUSY Schools leadership and wellbeing teams to embed these models into existing student support frameworks, ensuring every young person has access to the right help at the right time.

Build a powerful community of support

You’ll bring together the organisations and people who can make the biggest difference including

community partners, housing and homelessness services, mental health providers, government, industry and philanthropic supporters.

Your work will help create a coordinated, place‑based “community of support” around schools and local areas, ensuring young people don’t fall through the cracks.

Drive impact, evidence and long‑term sustainability

This role is central to positioning The BUSY Foundation as a leader in youth impact and homelessness prevention - nationally and internationally.

You will:

  • Lead pilot programs within BUSY Schools and guide future expansion
  • Establish referral pathways, service integration processes and support planning systems
  • Design impact measurement and data frameworks
  • Monitor outcomes such as homelessness risk reduction, engagement, retention and wellbeing
  • Use evidence to refine models, strengthen advocacy and support future funding
  • Represent The BUSY Foundation across sector forums, partnerships and community events
  • Contribute to long‑term strategy, growth and sustainability

Reporting directly to the Board of Directors and Group Governance Manager, you’ll have the influence and autonomy to shape a program that leaves a lasting legacy.

Why this role matters

Every initiative you design, every partnership you build and every model you implement will help young people stay connected, supported and safe — not just today, but for generations.

If you’re driven by purpose, collaboration and creating meaningful community impact, this is your chance to lead something extraordinary
