We're looking for an experienced and proactive School Compliance Officer to join our Group Quality & Compliance team. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance, audit or governance professional who enjoys identifying opportunities for improvement, building strong stakeholder relationships, and contributing to a culture of accountability, quality and child safety across a growing network of schools.

About the Role

Reporting to the Group Quality & Compliance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting compliance, governance, audit readiness and continuous improvement activities across The BUSY School network in Australia and New Zealand. Working closely with School Leadership and Principals, you will help ensure campuses meet legislative, regulatory, accreditation, funding and organisational requirements, while supporting operational excellence and child safe practices.

What You'll Be Doing

Compliance & Assurance

  • Monitor and assess compliance across school campuses.
  • Conduct risk-based internal reviews and maintain compliance registers and assurance schedules.
  • Identify compliance gaps, emerging risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support accreditation, funding and regulatory compliance requirements.

Audit, Reporting & Quality Improvement

  • Lead and support audits, reviews and audit readiness activities.
  • Undertake campus reviews and evidence validation activities.
  • Analyse trends, prepare reports, dashboards and risk summaries for leadership.
  • Track corrective actions through to completion and strengthen assurance processes.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance governance and operational effectiveness.

Partnerships & Governance

  • Partner with School Leadership and Principals to provide practical compliance guidance.
  • Support the implementation of regulatory and legislative changes across campuses.
  • Assist with responses to regulators, funding bodies and accrediting authorities.
  • Support policy, governance and document management activities.
  • Build compliance capability through stakeholder engagement, advice and awareness initiatives.

About You

You are a highly organised and detail-oriented professional who enjoys working in a regulated environment and partnering with operational teams to achieve positive outcomes.

You will bring:

  • Experience in compliance, governance, auditing, quality assurance or risk management.
  • Strong analytical, investigation and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent report writing and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • The ability to interpret legislation and translate requirements into practical operational outcomes.
  • Experience working within education, government-funded services, schools or other highly regulated sectors will be highly regarded.
  • A commitment to integrity, accountability, continuous improvement and child safety
