About The BUSY School… The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services. The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.

Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team supports the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increase their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes. Our focus is centred on re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon graduation from Year 12.

The BUSY School is seeking qualified teachers for our relief teaching pool! The Ipswich Campus is looking for Teachers to express interest in working as relief teachers. Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people in years 11 and 12 by providing them with support that increases their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes.

ABOUT YOU

Casual relief teaching staff are required to hold a Current QCT Registration.

Desirable experience and characteristics:

  • Experience working with QCAA and QCE requirements, accountabilities and processes is preferable
  • Motivated and genuine passion to work with disengaged youth and support students as part of a holistic school team
  • Experience and/or high level of understanding of trauma-informed and restorative practices is desirable
  • Experience in developing and implementing a range of strategies to support diverse needs of students through differentiation, support and behaviour management strategies.
