About The BUSY School… The BUSY School is part of The BUSY Group, a not-for-profit organisation providing employment services, vocational education and training, apprenticeships, mentoring, Inclusive Employment Support, and allied health services. The BUSY School is an independent Special Assistance School with 10 campuses across Queensland and New Zealand, providing an alternative program for Year 11 and 12 students who are disengaged or at risk of disengaging from education. Our program has expanded to include The BUSY School Online (TBSO) offering flexible access to our program for all students across Queensland.
Each campus provides a supportive and safe learning environment for young people by providing them with an education program that includes vocational education and training (VET), work experience and opportunities for school-based apprenticeships and traineeships. Our team supports the students to gain employability and transferability skills to increase their sense of wellbeing, resilience, belonging, academic achievement, career exploration and employment outcomes. Our focus is centred on re-engaging our students to learn, remain eligible for a Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE) and gain employment or further training outcomes upon graduation from Year 12.
About the position... Join The BUSY School Southport Campus! This role case manages at-risk youth through assessment, case planning, implementation, monitoring and review. You will monitor student attendance data and implement intervention strategies to assist students and families to maintain a minimum 85% attendance. As a Youth Worker, your aim is to improve outcomes for vulnerable young people and families through integrated and coordinated service delivery.
Permanent full time - 38 hours a week, working 40 weeks a year - school term time with 4 weeks annual leave. The proposed salary is calculated annually in relation to working time.

About you... Proven ability to develop cooperative working relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure outcomes for students are achieved. You have knowledge and experience in working with youth in a vocational education pathway but this is not essential. Excellent communicator, a promoter who is influential with the ability to seek and secure opportunities. Ability to obtain a Blue Card and National Police Check with no disclosable outcomes.
