Join our client in the heart of Cambridge as a Front of House Supervisor! Working on behalf of one of the most prestigious colleges in Cambridge, you will deliver a highly efficient and excellent quality service.
Job Duties:
- Lead and supervise the Front of House team, including casual staff, ensuring a consistently high standard of service is delivered to Fellows, students, and guests daily.
- Plan and take an active role in the service of food and beverages at a variety of college functions, including Feasts, Reunion Dinners, Fellows’ Dinners, conferences, private events, and those held at the Master’s Lodge.
- Ensure all staff are properly briefed before each event, with attention to any specific requirements or guest needs.
- Oversee the timely setup and catering service in all College rooms booked for events or dining, ensuring they are arranged according to specifications.
- Ensure compliance with college policies and legal regulations related to Food Safety, Health and Safety, and COSHH. Provide training on the safe and proper use of catering equipment as necessary.
- Conduct regular spot checks across food and coffee service areas to confirm correct setup, presentation, and food labelling.
- Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of new casual staff. Support the ongoing development of the team to maintain excellent service standards for both internal and external guests.
- Promote operational efficiency within the department by managing staffing schedules, monitoring productivity, minimizing overtime, and ensuring the correct and economical use of hired linen and cleaning materials.
- Maintain proactive engagement with guests to ensure expectations are met. Address all customer feedback promptly and courteously.
