What does an Office Cleaner/ Assistant do at Busuu? We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Office Cleaner/Assistant to ensure our office environment remains clean, organised, and fully stocked. Your role will be to maintain a clean, welcoming and set-up workspace for our team and visitors. You will be a natural self-starter who wants to create and maintain a pleasant environment for our employees.
Key Responsibilities- Deliveries & Supplies: Receive and distribute daily deliveries, including fruit baskets, office supplies, and staff lunches. Ensure timely and accurate logging of all incoming items and distribute to recipients.
- Meeting Room Maintenance: Keep all meeting rooms stocked, tidy and organised. Regularly check and replenish essential items such as whiteboard pens and chargers.
- Kitchen & Dishwashing: Operate dishwashers throughout the day to prevent buildup of dirty dishes, especially post-breakfast and lunch. Conduct weekly stock takes and restock kitchen supplies, ensuring availability of essentials like coffee, tea, and snacks.
- Coffee Machine Upkeep: Clean the coffee machine daily and ensure it is stocked with beans. Troubleshoot minor issues; full training will be provided.
- General Cleaning & Tidiness: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including wiping surfaces, clearing spills, and maintaining overall tidiness. Maintain the fridges - dispose of old food, re-stock, etc. Empty office bins and manage waste disposal, including recycling, by transporting waste to designated bins.
- Bathroom Maintenance: Ensure bathrooms are stocked with toilet paper, feminine hygiene products, and other necessities. Report any maintenance issues, such as blockages, to the Office Manager promptly.
- Stock Management & Health Supplies: Monitor and replenish cleaning and sanitary supplies, including hand sanitiser, wipes, and other hygiene products. Conduct weekly checks of the office first aid kit, ensuring it is fully stocked and that expired items are replaced promptly.
- Maintenance Reporting: Identify and report any general office maintenance issues to the Office Manager.
- Additional Duties: Assist with any other tasks as directed by the Office Manager to support effective office operations.
What we’re looking for in an Office Cleaner/ Assistant: We’re looking for someone who takes pride in keeping our office clean, organised, and welcoming. You’ll play an important role in supporting the daily operations and creating a great environment for everyone at Busuu. The ideal candidate will have:

Important Information: The hours of work are Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (30 minute lunch break). This is a 1 year fixed term contract. You may operate either as a sole trader (with a UTR) or through a limited company, depending on your preferred setup.
