As a Sales Development Representative at Busuu, you'll be at the heart of our Italian expansion, empowering companies to build spoken confidence in international workforces. You'll open doors, spark meaningful conversations, and directly shape Busuu's revenue and reach by converting strategic prospects into high-value pipeline opportunities.

You will work alongside our Business Development Managers and you will gain real exposure to enterprise sales and develop core skills in discovery, stakeholder mapping, deal shaping, and executive communication, with genuine career growth as Busuu scales. You will be at the forefront of how we use AI to scale smarter - designing, testing and iterating on agentic workflows that set the benchmark for how Busuu prospects and sells.

This is a hybrid role combining hands-on pipeline generation with the design and optimisation of AI-driven prospecting workflows, as we evolve towards a more AI-first sales model.

In this role you will:

  • Architect & Scale: Own the design, testing, and scaling of AI-powered prospecting workflows to improve efficiency and conversion across prospecting and qualification. Translate learnings into playbooks and insights.
  • Execute & Own: Design and execute targeted outbound strategies using industry context, stakeholder mapping, and intent signals to generate high-intent opportunities with Enterprise and mid-market accounts in Italy. Map and engage HR, L&D, and Procurement professionals leveraging a mix of AI-driven outreach and targeted human engagement (including cold calling). Own pipeline generation end-to-end: mapping, prospecting, qualifying leads, scheduling demos for BDMs. Convert inbound leads into opportunities. Track all activity and provide data-driven insights in HubSpot to inform sales strategy. Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to continuously sharpen messaging and improve conversion.

What we’re looking for in a Sales Development Representative:

  • You are AI native, excellent at prompting and always look for ways to improve by leveraging agentic AI.
  • 1-2+ years of demonstrated success in a commercial or sales role, ideally in Ed-Tech or HR-Tech.
  • A proven ability to build outbound pipeline and engage decision-makers across multiple channels in Italy.
  • Comfort with cold calling.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to turn data into action.
  • High ambition, discipline, and a genuine hunger to learn and grow.
  • Excellent communication skills; Comfortable and confident when engaging with C-level executives.
  • Fluency and excellent command of Italian and English.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Lusha.
  • Knowledge of MEDDPICC is a plus.

At Busuu we want to ensure that you have access to some great benefits:

  • Our centrally located offices are well-equipped with free breakfast, plenty of snacks and fresh fruit.
  • You get 2 free lunches per week at our office that you can choose out of a wide selection of restaurants in the area.
  • Busuu offers a great Private Health Insurance scheme.
  • There is a personal training budget just for you, so you can learn more in your field to ensure our employees can continuously grow and progress in their careers.
  • We like to support our teams with their work-life balance so we offer flexible working hours and a hybrid model of working.
  • We offer enhanced maternity and paternity leave.
  • Staying connected as a team is very important to us, so we have lots of social activities for you to join such as team lunches, Thursday socials, quarterly team, and company events.
