What does a Freelance Online Italian Teacher do at Busuu?

As a Freelance Online Italian Teacher at Busuu, you’ll play a key role in helping students learn Italian effectively and confidently. On a day‑to‑day basis, your responsibilities will likely include:

  • Planning, preparing, and teaching online lessons (45 minutes each) for corporate clients.
  • 1:1 Lessons: Deliver private lessons that include both language teaching and personalised coaching – conducting needs analyses, assessing levels, creating bespoke learning paths, checking progress during lesson time, and setting clear goals.
  • Group Lessons: Teach online group classes that focus on active learning and communication.

What we’re looking for in a Freelance Online Language Teacher:

  • C2 Level of Italian
  • Valid teaching certificate such as TEFL/CELTA or related university degrees
  • Experience in online teaching and providing 1:1 coaching or personalised learning support
  • Fluency in additional languages: B2 or above in English
  • Bonus: Speaking more than two languages
  • Comfortable teaching: presentation skills, negotiations, business email etiquette, meeting management, multicultural communication, etc.
  • Excellent communication skills to engage and teach students
  • High‑Speed Internet, Modern Laptop / PC with a microphone and camera
  • Must comply with local freelance/contractor regulations
