The Vacancy

Are you a dynamic, strategic leader with a passion for driving sales performance? Busseys, a respected motor dealership group with over 100 years’ experience selling cars and commercial vehicles in Norfolk, is seeking a Sales Director to lead our sales operations into an exciting new chapter.

Renowned for our outstanding customer service and ‘Busseys Charter’ commitment to our people, we offer a rare opportunity to join a trusted, values-driven business where your expertise will shape the future of automotive retail in the region.

At Busseys, we are proud to represent a diverse portfolio of exceptional new vehicle brands alongside our own used vehicle operations. From the enduring innovation of Ford cars, to the UK’s fastest growing brand, BYD, the rugged individuality of the INEOS Grenadier range and the market leading Ford commercial vehicles, they all reflect both our heritage and our forward-thinking vision. These brands position us at the cutting edge of the industry, offering our customers outstanding choice and quality – and providing our team with the tools to deliver real impact in a rapidly evolving market.

This is more than just a senior sales role – it is a rare opportunity to shape the strategic direction of a well-established business and play a key role in its continued success. As Sales Director, you will become a vital member of the Operational Board, contributing to high-level decision-making and long-term planning. For an ambitious and commercially astute leader, this position offers real scope for professional growth and the chance to make a lasting impact within a progressive, people-focused company.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead and develop the Group’s sales strategy across all brands and locations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Drive performance, profitability, and customer satisfaction through effective leadership, and by building, developing, training and motivating a strong sales team.
  • Develop, enhance and implement robust sales processes and achieve consistent adherence to ensure the highest standards of customer service across all sales operations.
  • Build strong relationships with manufacturer partners to maximise brand potential and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Monitor market trends and customer insights to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Collaborate with fellow Operational Board members to contribute to company-wide strategy, planning and performance.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, staff development and employee engagement.

We believe in recognising and rewarding talent. This role offers a highly competitive remuneration package with total On Target Earnings in excess of £100,000. In addition to a performance-linked bonus structure, you will benefit from a company car, generous pension contributions and a range of employee benefits that reflect our commitment to looking after our people. At Busseys, we don’t just offer a job – we offer a long-term career with real progression and reward.

While previous senior leadership experience within the motor retail sector would be highly advantageous, we also welcome applications from candidates with strong, transferable skills in strategic sales leadership, team development, and operational management. If you have a proven track record of delivering results, leading high-performing teams, and driving customer-focused growth — regardless of industry — we’d be keen to hear from you.

Busseys are dedicated to providing an inclusive culture throughout the whole business and actively promote diversity with the elimination of discrimination in the workplace. We are committed to ensuring every employee & job applicant is treated fairly and no less favourably based on the grounds of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, nationality religion or belief.
