The Senior Welfare Officer is responsible for leading and coordinating the welfare services across the Grŵp Llandrillo Menai campuses (1 East and 1 West), ensuring that all learners receive appropriate pastoral care and support. Reporting to the Learner Services Manager, the role is essential in fostering a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

By coordinating staff within the Learner Services Welfare team, this role supports student wellbeing through proactive interventions, advice, and guidance on issues such as mental health, safeguarding, personal development, and financial hardships. The Senior Welfare Officer will also work closely with external agencies and internal departments to promote student welfare, tackle barriers to learning, and contribute to the overall student experience and retention strategy.

Key to this role is the ability to identify trends, respond to individual and group needs, and implement policies and programs that support the overall wellbeing of the student community.

  • Salary: £33,479 - £35,721 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Place of Work: Bangor
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years’ continuous service (01 September to 31 August)
  • All normally observed public holidays, determined annually
  • Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually
  • Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday
