Under the general guidance and direction of lecturing staff, the Practical Skills Supervisor will deliver practical sessions to groups of learners within a practical workshop, and will provide support to lecturers by tracking and assessing learner progress and providing guidance and support where required.
The new Engineering & Renewable Technologies Centre - Rhyl campus. The Engineering department at Coleg Llandrillo is a premier hub for wind energy training, providing the next generation of technicians with the skills required for on-shore and off-shore sectors. As part of the professional support team, you will be instrumental in maintaining a world-class learning environment that aligns with GWO (Global Wind Organisation) standards, ensuring our apprentices meet the rigorous safety and technical benchmarks required by the industry.
In this role, you will support the delivery of our flagship Wind Turbine Technician Sponsorship and Apprenticeship programmes. You will play a key part in a department that not only bridges the gap between education and industry but also leads the Renewable Energy skills competition in Wales.
- GWO Compliance: Assisting in the coordination of industry-standard safety and technical training.
- Specialised Maintenance: Supporting practical learning in mechanical, electrical, and electronic turbine systems.
- Future Tech: Facilitating student engagement with Industry 4.0, including VR/AR simulations of nacelle environments.
You will be based in a state-of-the-art, three-floor, 2,886 m2 facility - a £2m investment in the future of engineering. This high-spec environment requires proactive professional support to manage its diverse range of specialised spaces, including:
- Wind & Renewables Labs: Dedicated areas for turbine-specific electronics, PLCs, and mechanical principles.
- Advanced Manufacturing: CNC workshops and 3D prototyping laboratories (CAD/CAM).
- Digital Innovation: Cutting-edge robotics and Industry 4.0 suites designed to replicate modern "Smart" wind farms.

Salary: £33,479 - £35,721 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Place of Work: Rhyl
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years’ continuous service (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.
Working Pattern: 37 hours per week
