As an Assessor within the Childcare team at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor, Pwllheli, you will play an important role in the team delivering the Level 3 Children’s Care, Play, Learning and Development: Practice and Theory qualification. This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive, ambitious and high‑performing team that is committed to providing high‑quality education and preparing learners for successful careers in the childcare sector. You will support learners to develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviours required to succeed in the industry.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training, assessment and internal verification of learners’ work.
  • Support full‑time Further Education learners undertaking work placements across the local area, ensuring that the practical elements of their qualification are assessed in the workplace and that learners can demonstrate competence in line with qualification requirements.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, employers and wider Grŵp Llandrillo Menai colleagues, monitoring learner progress, conducting workplace observations, and providing guidance and support to enable learners to successfully complete their training and achieve their qualification.
  • Contribute to programme quality improvement, support learner recruitment activities across the campus and local community, and promote the mission, values and aims of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai.

  • Salary: £12,278 - £13,324 inclusive of holiday pay, dependent on qualifications and experience
  • Place of Work: Pwllheli
  • Holiday Entitlement: 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years’ continuous service (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually. Part‑time contracts will receive a pro‑rata entitlement to the above. Term‑time contracts will receive a pro‑rata entitlement to the above paid as part of the annual salary.
  • Working Pattern: 18.5 hours per week, 36 weeks per year during the college term
  • Pension Rights: Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Contract Type: Part Time Permanent
