The Construction Department at Coleg Meirion-Dwyfor is a forward‑thinking department offering courses across a range of construction disciplines. Teaching and learning take place with access to industry-standard equipment and within modern facilities. The department operates across two sites: Hafan (Pwllheli) and CaMDA (Dolgellau), with Construction provision based at CaMDA (Dolgellau).
We are seeking a permanent, full‑time member of staff to join the College’s Construction Department as a Plumbing Lecturer. The successful candidate will have experience in the Construction and Building Services Engineering sector, specifically in plumbing and heating, and will deliver high‑quality bilingual education to learners across Level 2, Level 3, full‑time, part‑time and apprenticeship programmes.
Responsibilities
- Delivering theoretical sessions in the classroom and practical sessions in the workshop when required.
- Providing ongoing tutorial support to ensure learner success.
- Leading and developing the plumbing courses, setting curriculum and assessment standards.
- Maintaining a strong link with the 14–16 provision to support smooth progression to further education and work‑based learning.
- Ensuring high standards of teaching, learning and adherence to the Group’s policies and procedures.
- Providing excellent extracurricular experiences and supporting learners to achieve and exceed their targets.
Job Details

- Salary: £33,595 – £51,931 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience.
- Place of Work: Dolgellau.
- Holiday Entitlement: 46 days of leave per annum, all normally observed public holidays, and up to five efficiency closure days.
- Working Pattern: 37 hours per week, 835 hours of annual teaching time (24 to 26 hours per week) and up to 5 hours per week working off‑site in agreement with the manager.
- Pension Rights: Teachers Pension Scheme.
- Contract Type: Full Time Permanent.
