We are seeking to appoint a Girls’ Rugby Academy Coach to lead the day to day delivery and ongoing development of the Girls’ Rugby Academy at Coleg Llandrillo. The role focuses on providing high quality coaching and performance support for learners aged 16 to 19, aligned with Welsh Rugby Union player development principles and long term athlete development models.
Working closely with the Programme Area Manager for Sport and Public Services, the Head of Rugby Boys, college staff and the WRU Player Development Centre Lead North, the successful candidate will support the technical, tactical, physical and psychological development of players while promoting a high performance, inclusive and aspirational sporting environment. The role will allow you to contribute to the continued growth and success of the Coleg Llandrillo Rugby Academy, supporting learners to progress both in their rugby performance and their educational studies.
Duties will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging coaching sessions
- Supporting individual player development plans
- Contributing to performance analysis and fitness testing
- Organising fixtures and match day activity
The post holder will also work closely with academic staff and support services to ensure learners are maintaining strong attendance, engagement and wellbeing while balancing the demands of sport and education. In addition, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting recruitment, talent identification and the wider development of the girls’ and women’s rugby pathway.
Working collaboratively with college colleagues, WRU staff and external partners, the role will contribute to maintaining WRU A Licence standards, monitoring learner progression and supporting the strategic priorities of both Coleg Llandrillo and the Welsh Rugby Union.

Salary: £14,939 - £17,860 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
Place of Work: Rhos-on-Sea
Holiday Entitlement: 28 days leave per annum, rising to 32 days after 5 full holiday years’ continuous service (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually. Part Time contracts will receive a pro rata entitlement to the above.
Working Pattern: 18.5 hours per week, condensed hours during the season will be agreed with Programme Area Manager.
