As the Grŵp’s Director of Commercial and Work‑Based Learning (WBL), you will head Busnes@LlandrilloMenai—our specialist, employer‑facing arm. Busnes@LlandrilloMenai is one of the three core delivery arms of Grŵp Llandrillo Menai, working alongside Further Education and Higher Education to provide a specialist, employer‑facing service that drives skills, workforce development and economic growth across North Wales.
Within Busnes@, activity is delivered through three directorates: Land‑based, Commercial Contracts and Data, and Commercial and Work‑Based Learning Delivery. In this role, you’ll lead apprenticeship delivery, champion bilingual and Welsh‑medium Work‑Based Learning provision, and build strong partnerships with employers to understand their skills needs and respond with high‑quality, innovative training solutions.
You’ll oversee major commercial projects, guide teams across multiple training locations, and ensure our provision is agile, financially sustainable and aligned to regional priorities. From apprenticeships to short courses and micro‑learning to specialist workforce development and large‑scale funded projects, your leadership will help businesses grow stronger and support a thriving regional economy.
The role also carries a strong external leadership profile. The post holder will act as a visible advocate for Busnes@ and the Grŵp, building influential partnerships with employers, and key stakeholders, such as the Regional Skills Partnership, Medr, Welsh Government, Colegau Cymru and Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. Through these relationships, they will help shape the skills agenda for North Wales and ensure our Work‑Based Learning and commercial provision remains responsive, bilingual, innovative and aligned to economic priorities.

- Salary: £77,990 – £84,832 per annum, dependent on qualifications and experience
- Place of Work: Bangor (Place of work to be discussed St. Asaph)
- Holiday Entitlement: 37 days leave per annum (01 September to 31 August). All normally observed public holidays, determined annually. Up to 5 days efficiency closure days per annum, determined annually.
