A design and manufacturing company based in Sheffield, offering UK wide coverage on product and project services to clients in the construction sector. They work closely with clients to ensure contracts are project managed and delivered to high standards, offering professional drawing and advisory skills mainly on structural design projects. My client works alongside a number of SMEs and large construction companies providing standard and bespoke solutions in structural steel products. This vacancy has come about due to business growth.

Tasks:

  • Develop design solutions for building components to Eurocode (masonry support, lintels, wind-posts, beams).
  • Using CAD design systems to put together plans and drawings.
  • Perform structural analysis and simulation to assess the performance under various load conditions.
  • Ensure all designs adhere to relevant building codes.
  • Collaborate with clients, engineers, architects, and project managers.
  • Develop new product ranges and proactively look for ways to improve the design.
  • Cost evaluation, look for value engineered solutions.
  • Prepare documentation and maintain filing for preparation of UKCA and CE approval.
  • Project manage workload.
  • Develop client relationships by ensuring projects are completed efficiently and professionally.

Qualifications/Skills required:

  • Degree level qualifications in structural engineering (or similar).
  • Design for manufacture experience.
  • AutoCAD experience.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proactive approach to work.
