Requirements

  • Must have:
  • Solid 2nd line support experience — confident resolving most issues independently and knowing when to escalate.
  • Comfortable with hardware: building, upgrading, and diagnosing laptops and PCs.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft 365, Active Directory / Entra ID basics, and standard networking concepts.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive — happy to own a site, manage your own time, and get on with things without needing constant direction.
  • Strong communicator with a calm, friendly, and patient manner for non-technical colleagues.
  • Curious and growth-minded, eager to keep learning and developing — not just close tickets.
  • Nice to have:
    • Any scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, basic Python).
    • Exposure to networking equipment, AV systems, or endpoint management tooling.
    • Previous experience as the sole IT person on a site.

    Responsibilities:

    • Day-to-day IT support for the Guildford office — desk-side help, troubleshooting, and first point of contact for on-site issues.
    • Building and configuring laptops and PCs, RAM and storage upgrades, hardware diagnostics, peripherals, and meeting-room equipment.
    • New starter setups, leaver processes.
