We are a local group of national Friends of the Earth campaigning community - pushing for change on causes which matter to West Berkshire, the UK and beyond. Since 2020, our main project has been the Lockdown Woods: we have created five beautiful woodland environments across Newbury and West Berkshire. These woodlands are dedicated to those who lost their lives or faced hardship during the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, our continued activities pioneered the Newbury Nature corridor.
The treasurer is retiring after 5 years. We are looking for someone with experience in the following areas:
- Managing and accounting for expenses;
- Reconciling a bank account;
- Preparing annual accounts from the cashbook;
- Liaising with the local Chair to agree on annual expenditure and budgets.
We hope that anyone willing to help us with this task would also like to participate in the various projects and work parties organized by the group, although this is not strictly part of their role. It would increase their understanding and enjoyment of the group and help them feel part of the team.
