As Treasurer, you’ll be a key voice on our Board, helping shape strategy and ensure strong, transparent financial governance. Working closely with the Chair, CEO and fellow trustees, you’ll oversee budgets, financial reporting and risk, and support long term planning, helping us balance ambition with sustainability.

What are we looking for?

We are open to a variety of professional financial backgrounds and qualifications with, ideally, but not necessarily only, charities and including current registration with one of the professional bodies:

  • Institute of Chartered Accountants E&W.
  • Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
  • Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
  • CIPFA.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Essential
    • A professional background in finance with at least 5 years post-qualification in accounting, investment or financial management.
    • Experience of financial oversight, governance or strategic financial planning.
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
    • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial audiences.
  • Desirable
    • Experience of charity finance or working with non-profit organisations.
    • Experience supporting organisational growth and development.

Our deadline for applications is Monday 8 June 2026. Please submit a CV and a covering letter (no more than 2 pages) which must address three questions:

  • Why are you interested in becoming a trustee and treasurer of BoB?
  • What insights and experiences can you bring to our charity Board?
  • Is there anything in your background that we should be aware of that might be relevant to you becoming a trustee/company director?

We aim to be flexible with interview dates, to include early evenings but aim to hold them during May and June. If you are invited to an interview and need any particular support, then please make this clear in your supporting statement. We plan to have an induction and familiarisation/onboarding process before final confirmation as a trustee. Once appointed, Trustees are expected to serve a minimum three-year term of office. This is a voluntary and non-paid position.
