The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 Β£ per year.
The Furzedown Project provides older people with opportunities to connect, contribute and be active β tackling isolation and improving well-being. We are a charity led by our members and offer a vibrant activity and friendship hub for older people.
Time commitment: 1-2 days a month (an additional few days to prepare the financial statements and answer queries from the independent examination at year end).
Office commitment: Hybrid β mostly working from home β will need to come to the office 0.5 days to discuss queries with the director.
Experience Required:
- Bookkeeping β preparing management accounts from bank statements and other source data;
- Data set manipulation and summarisation in Excel.
Preferred but not required:
- Charity bookkeeping;
- Sage software.
Qualities:
- Conscientious;
- Good at managing deadlines;
- Approachable.
Responsibilities:
- Monthly:
- Analyse and post to Sage:
- Bank transactions;
- Sum up transactions;
- Petty cash transactions;
- Weekly cash takings transactions;
- Prepaid and accrued expenses;
- Accrued and deferred income;
- Payroll reallocations.
- Annual:
- Prepare the financial statements at year end;
- Prepare the evidence for the independent certification;
- File the financial statement at Companies House and the Charities Commission;
- File the annual return at Companies House.
