We support General Counsel and Chief Legal Officers to drive the climate and sustainability transition in some of the world’s biggest organisations.
We are seeking an experienced finance and governance professional to assist our micro business with essential compliance and financial management responsibilities. This is a part-time role requiring, on average, approximately 6-8 hours per month.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee financial operations
- Act as primary liaison with our external accountants
- Develop and deliver financial performance reviews, budgets, and forecasts
- Manage process of production and submission of Annual Report and Accounts
- Regular meetings, e.g., fortnightly with CEO, to stay on top of finance / governance needs.
The successful candidate will work directly with the CEO and our bookkeeper to ensure smooth financial operations and governance compliance.
Required Experience- Demonstrable experience supporting micro businesses with their governance and financial management
- Understanding of Companies House filing processes
- Strong financial analysis and forecasting capabilities
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently
- Able to summarise and clearly explain financial information
We envisage the successful candidate will have considerable experience in micro-business finances / accountancy, as well as some experience in the company secretarial role.
Note: We are legally constituted as a 100% non-profit CIC: Community Interest Company limited by guarantee. This is a very similar structure to a for-profit limited company, with the main difference that the directors can’t take profits out of the company. Therefore, whilst it would be helpful, it’s not important to have experience of CICs.
CompensationThis is a paid freelance role with compensation commensurate with experience. Please note we are a 100% non-profit, so we invite applicants to consider this when proposing their fee rate.
