Our ongoing programmes take place in the UK and northern France, while we are involved in shorter-term interventions and research projects in other settings. We also deliver tailor-made arts-based training, crisis support, and skills-sharing workshops in the UK, Europe, and internationally. The charity has been operational since 2006.

We have an immediate requirement for a replacement bookkeeper to maintain our operational books & records. These records mainly consist of tracking & recording charitable donations, as well as payment of expenses for freelance staff and support costs of the charity. The role is not complex and has the full support of both the Treasurer and an external accountant who prepares the annual returns. No payroll processes are involved.

The role will be home-based and is expected to take 5-6 hours per month, which can be completed flexibly.

  1. Maintain records of financial transactions, posting transactions across the existing chart of accounts.
  2. Upload monthly bank statement reports and code/reconcile transactions.
  3. Develop the use of our existing accounting software system (QuickFile) to simplify reporting.
  4. Support the Treasurer & CEO in updating bookkeeping policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with charity guidelines.
  5. Maintain reserve account levels in line with financial policy. Keep records of restricted/unrestricted funds.
  6. Prepare quarterly Board reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
