We currently have a position available in our kitchen for a sous chef. This position is a varied role within a busy hotel kitchen, catering for residents, guests, weddings and functions. You will need to have previous experience within a busy kitchen.

We are looking for the following qualities and experience:

  • You will have experience working in a restaurant/hotel kitchen.
  • You will be passionate about working with food cooked to order in a fast-paced environment.
  • You will have high standards and a good eye for detail.
  • You will ensure all dishes are cooked to high standards whilst being delivered at speed.
  • You will thrive working under pressure and being part of a busy team.
  • You will have great planning and organisational skills.
  • You will have a good understanding of food hygiene and health and safety.
  • You will be able to lead a team and assist the head chef in the management of the kitchen.
  • Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain a clean working station whilst adhering to health & safety standards.
  • Assist with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen and equipment.
  • Adhere to all food hygiene & safety standards.
  • Keep waste to a minimum.
  • Carry out any reasonable duty to assist in the smooth running of the kitchen.

Experience is essential. Applicants must be fully qualified in catering and possess a basic hygiene certificate. Ability to work as part of an established and efficient team in a fast-paced environment, as well as on own initiative, is of vital importance. The successful applicant must be flexible to work varying hotel shift patterns.

Salary negotiable. Job types: Full-time, Permanent. Pay: From £34,000.00 per year. Work location: In person.
