We are delighted to be recruiting an SEN Teacher for Bushbury School in Wolverhampton. This role involves teaching and supporting children with a wide range of special educational needs, including Autism and Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN). Bushbury School is an independent specialist day school providing high-quality education for boys and girls aged 7-19. Our pupils have diverse and often complex profiles, with many working significantly below age-related expectations and requiring an approach grounded in early developmental stages, pre-formal learning, and communication-rich teaching.
We are seeking a highly motivated, compassionate, and adaptable educator to join our dedicated team. You will contribute to a nurturing environment that supports pupils with a range of needs, with a particular focus on Autism, SLCN, and sensory processing differences.
Responsibilities:- Deliver an inclusive, personalised curriculum that responds to each pupil's developmental stage and EHCP outcomes.
- Use structured play, sensory experiences, communication-first approaches, and therapeutic strategies to maximise engagement.
- Collaborate closely with a skilled multidisciplinary team, including a highly experienced SENCo, therapists, and dedicated support staff.
- Create a positive learning climate built on compassion, consistency, and deep respect for each pupil's unique strengths and needs.
- Contribute to ongoing school development as we enhance our curriculum pathways and readiness for future Ofsted inspection.
- Comprehensive induction programme including face-to-face training, online modules, shadowing, and local induction period.
- Face-to-face therapeutic training and support for all colleagues via our SHINE programme.
