ASSOCIATE EXPERT WITNESS (MEDICO LEGAL REPORT WRITING)
OOCUPATIONAL HEALTH NURSE – LIABILITY AND QUANTUM
UK WIDE - SELF EMPLOYED - HIGH EARNING POTENTIAL
Are you an experienced Occupational Health Nurse looking for an opportunity to use your specialist clinical knowledge in a new and intellectually challenging way?
Expert witness work enables experienced clinicians to apply their professional expertise within the legal context, providing independent opinion to help solicitors, insurers and the courts understand the standard of care provided and, where appropriate, the impact of injury or illness upon an individual’s function, work and future needs.
As an established leader within the medico-legal industry, we are currently looking to expand our UK-wide network of Occupational Health Nurse expert witnesses to undertake both liability and quantum instructions.
We are particularly interested in experienced Occupational Health Nurses with substantial autonomous practice and expertise in areas including workplace health assessment, fitness for work, return-to-work planning, workplace adjustments, rehabilitation, health surveillance, occupational risk, management referral, sickness absence and the interaction between health conditions and employment.
With a long-standing reputation built over 40 years, we’re proud to be a trusted and consistent source of clinical expertise for law firms and insurers alike. Our growing network of experts is valued not just for its breadth, but for the care, clarity and objectivity each professional brings to their role.
What is an Expert Witness?
As a self-employed Associate on our expert witness panel, you’ll apply your clinical expertise to cases involving alleged clinical negligence, personal injury and other matters in which specialist Occupational Health nursing opinion is required.
In liability cases, you may be asked to review clinical and occupational health records and provide an independent opinion on the standard of Occupational Health nursing care provided. Depending upon your own clinical experience, this may include assessment, advice, documentation, communication, escalation, workplace recommendations, health surveillance, referral and follow-up, considered against the accepted and reasonable standards applicable at the relevant time.
In quantum cases, you may be asked to assess an individual following serious injury or illness and consider the functional impact upon their working life, together with Occupational Health recommendations regarding return to work, workplace adjustments, phased rehabilitation, ongoing support and management of health within the workplace.
Your opinion must always remain within your own professional scope, and we provide extensive support to help experts understand the boundaries between Occupational Health nursing opinion and the roles of other professionals involved in medico-legal cases.
You’ll be supported by a dedicated and knowledgeable team at Bush & Co – people who are genuinely passionate about the expert witness role, value professional growth and are committed to supporting the delivery of high-quality, independent expert evidence.
What makes Bush and Co the right fit for your expert witness journey?
