Adult Speech & Language Therapist – London, Self‑Employed Associate
Role Summary
As an independent expert witness for Bush & Co, you will apply your specialist knowledge in a legal context, working with solicitors and insurers to assess the impact of neurological and other speech/language conditions on clients’ daily life and future needs.
Responsibilities
- You will review claimant and defendant clinical records, identifying relevant evidence and applying clinical reasoning to determine whether care met accepted and reasonable standards.
- You will draft clear, well‑structured, evidence‑based reports and meet agreed deadlines while maintaining independence and objectivity.
- You will collaborate with defence and claimant solicitors on cases involving serious injury arising from alleged clinical negligence or personal injury, assessing ‘quantum’ based on pre‑injury circumstances and future needs.
- You will participate in regular training and professional development opportunities to maintain up‑to‑date expertise in report writing, court skills, and legal updates.
Qualifications
- You should have 8 years of post‑registration clinical experience in adult speech‑language therapy.
