2 Children’s Support Workers

Overview of role:
The client is an 8 year old boy who is intellectually very able. He communicates using both high tech and low tech communication devices. He attends a mainstream school with two to one support.

Homebased carers do not support him at school. He has two to one support to accommodate his moving and handling needs. There is a well-established therapy team who provide training on all aspects of his care.

You will have the opportunity to support the client with therapy activities, his learning, undertaking fun activities and with all aspects of personal care, ensuring all his care needs are met.

Applicants must have a full driving licence and be able to drive the clients automatic adapted vehicle.

Experience working with young children with cerebral palsy is essential.

Please be aware there is no smoking/vaping whilst working with the client

Days & Hours Rotas are done three months in advance. Shifts to be covered are:

Term time only

Thursday and Friday 7am-9am Mileage to and from home is paid for this shift

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 2.30pm – 7pm

Saturday and Sunday 7am – 7pm

School holidays

4 x 12 hour shifts a week

£25 payment is made for any shifts picked up with less than 24 hours’ notice.

There are two staff on shift at all times.

Rates of Pay

£17.00 per hour weekdays

£19.00 per hour weekends

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service is required.
