We have unique and exciting opportunities for support workers to work alongside our client in Norwich, Norfolk. Our client is a young man in his 20's, the youngest of three brothers, who lives in an incredibly loving, supportive, chatty and lively household in the charming village of Rockland St. Mary, just 15 minutes drive from central Norwich. A full UK driving license is essential and access to own transport is needed due to the rural location.
He is a charming, funny and inspiring young man with a wide spectrum of interests. He is very sociable and enjoys company. He loves baking, quiz shows, getting out and about in the local area and football. Most of all, he adores people; his care team describe him as a joy to work with and say he has nothing but kind words to share.
Rates of Pay:
- Weekdays: £16.50
- Weekday nights: £17.60
- Weekends: £17.60
- Weekend nights: £17.60
- Bank holidays: £24.75
We are looking for:
- 1 x full time Night Carer (3 x nights a week, 36 hours per week)
- 1 x full time Day Carer (30 hours per week, hours and days to be negotiated)
Both positions would include weekend working on a rota basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Our client has complex medical needs following a spinal injury.
- He has a Nasogastric tube for drainage and is fed by Jejunostomy tube via his bowel.
- Due to scoliosis, he has a BiPAP machine to support breathing during the night.
- He has a concise care plan in place to support his needs which include:
- Daily/nightly bowel, urinary and personal care
- Feeding regime
- Physiotherapy programme
- Manual handling
- Medication delivery
Requirements:
We are looking for someone with experience working in a care environment, ideally with young adults/children. Complex care experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be given. The successful candidate will be someone dependable, sociable and thoughtful with positive energy, solid common sense, vigilance and good communication skills. In return, you will be able to gain experience and grow skills that few other roles provide, while working within a great team and a supportive family in a lovely environment that includes access to areas in the home specifically for support workers.
