Part-time & Casual Children\'s Support worker in Daventry

Salary: £17.00 per hour weekdays & £19.00 per hour weekends
Hours: Termtime – Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7am-9am , 1 weds in every 4 weeks 7am – 9am, 1 weekend in 4 – 7am – 7pm, SCHOOL HOLIDAYS – 2 x 12 hour shifts a week 7am – 7pm

Overview of role:

The client is a 7 year old boy who is intellectually very able. He communicates using both high tech and low tech communication devices. He attends a mainstream school with two to one support.

Homebased carers do not support him at school. He has two to one support to accommodate his moving and handling needs. There is a well-established therapy team who provide training on all aspects of his care.

You will have the opportunity to support the client with therapy activities, his learning, undertaking fun activities and with all aspects of personal care, ensuring all his care needs are met.

Applicants must have a full driving licence and be able to drive the clients automatic adapted vehicle.

Experience working with young children with cerebral palsy is essential.

Please be aware there is no smoking/vaping whilst working with the client

Support worker

Days & Hours Rotas are done three months in advance. Shifts to be covered are:

Term time only
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7am-9am Mileage to and from home is paid for this shift
One Wednesday in every 4 weeks 7am-9am Mileage to and from home is paid for this shift
1 weekend in 4, 7am 7pm Saturdays and Sundays

School holidays
2 x 12 hour shifts a week 0700-1900

Relief worker
To cover sickness and holidays. £25 payment is made for any shifts picked up with less than 24 hours notice.

There are two staff on shift at all times.

Rates of Pay

£17.00 per hour weekdays
£19.00 per hour weekends

Due to the nature of the role an enhanced check with the Disclosure and Barring Service is required.
