Driver/Receptionist – Kings Lynn, Norfolk (travel to other locations within Norfolk and Waveney as necessary)

Role Overview

The dual role combines front‑desk reception responsibilities with medical transport duties. As the first point of contact you will welcome patients, ensure confidentiality, handle comfort calls, book appointments, and address bereavement calls. You will also perform vehicle and medical equipment checks, accompany clinicians to patient homes and transport clinicians to remote calls. The role requires a full, clean, manual driving licence and strong IT skills with empathy for distressed patients.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and triage patients upon arrival at the dedicated base.
  • Handle incoming calls, comfort patients, book appointments and manage bereavement enquiries.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Perform vehicle and medical equipment checks prior to use.
  • Transport clinicians and patients to and from appointments, including accompaniment to patient homes.
  • Keep records on a computer system and use IT tools efficiently.
  • Support a busy out‑of‑hours environment in Norfolk and Waveney locality.

Qualifications

  • Full, clean, manual driving licence.
  • Empathy and excellent telephone communication skills.
  • Proficient IT skills – able to navigate computer screens and applications.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team during evenings, overnight and weekends.
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Hours & Location

  • Location based in Kings Lynn, Norfolk with travel to other locations within Norfolk and Waveney.
  • Up to 22 hours per week available for evening, overnight and weekend shifts.
