Solution Designer

Reporting into the Principal Cloud Engineer, the Solution Designer will have a strong background in design, integration & API development – you will play a role in clarifying requirements and designing solutions ensuring they align to security standards. Additional responsibilities include :

• Gather and document information on external systems to understand their capabilities and limitations
• Design solutions on AWS that are aligned with the organisation\’s target state and architectural principles
• Work closely with various technical and non-technical stakeholders to clarify and understand the business requirements
• Create and modify API specifications as needed to support the integration and functionality of systems
• Identify and evaluate suitable integration patterns that will work seamlessly with existing and new systems
• Advise potential dependencies and risks associated with the proposed solutions.

About You :

You will be joining a team dedicated to delivering resilient, reliable and scalable solutions that support the wider organisation and our over 2 million customers. To be successful in this role you will need some of the following experience :

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Information Systems or formal training through a focused, reputable provider (eg. General Assembly)
• Proven experience in solution design, system integration and API development on AWS
• Strong understanding of integration patterns and best practices
• Understanding of Agile / Scrum processes and / or DevOps concepts including CI / CD
• Development skills in one or more of the following :
• Observability: New Relic, CloudWatch
