West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is the largest employer within the region of Baw Baw Shire, servicing a rapidly growing community in a primarily rural based environment that includes rich horticultural, dairying and forestry areas. WGHG seeks to appoint an Executive Director People and Culture, a trusted advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and key member of the executive team.
The Executive Director will shape and drive a strategic, innovative, responsive values-based organisational culture and oversee the development and implementation of workforce engagement, talent management and organisational development initiatives, ensuring the health service achieves strategic and operational imperatives. The Executive Director will be responsible for the leadership and management of the directorate and work with the organisation to drive a focus of continuous improvement and high performance, aligned to purpose and values.
The incoming Executive Director will be a proven senior leader / executive, with experience in the strategic leadership and development of high performing people and culture teams, including employee and industrial relations, occupational health, safety and wellbeing, learning and development and workforce planning. The incumbent will bring extensive experience working and collaborating with executive peers to create a vision for the future and in the leadership of major change initiatives across an organisation. The ability to build highly effective relationships, internally and externally with key stakeholders, within a complex environment will be key to success. Relevant tertiary qualifications and a knowledge of applicable legislation will be essential. Post graduate qualifications in Health Administration or experience within the healthcare sector will be highly desirable.
The West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is a sub-regional provider of health services located in the Shire of Baw Baw, located approximately 100km east of Melbourne. Services include the Community Services Centres in Warragul and Trafalgar, the Rawson Community Health Centre, Cooinda Lodge Aged Care Residence, Andrews House Aged Care Residence, Warragul Linen Service and the West Gippsland Hospital. The Healthcare Group has 110 Aged Care and 102 Hospital beds and provides a broad range of services including acute medical and surgical, paediatric, obstetrics & gynaecology, emergency, aged care and community services. The primary catchment area is the Shire of Baw Baw, although patients also present from other Local Government Areas in Gippsland and outer Melbourne.
