Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School – Ruyton Girls’ School

The Position

Ruyton Girls’ School seeks to appoint a collaborative and innovative leader to the position of Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School. With responsibility for the leadership of the Senior School, and a member of the Executive Team, the Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School plays an active role in developing and supporting initiatives aligned to achieving the values, mission and strategic priorities of Ruyton Girls’ School.

Reporting to the Principal, the Deputy Principal, Head of Senior School will provide educational leadership to the Senior School students, staff and families and be responsible for the strategic direction of the Senior School. The role will oversee the development of programs and practices relating to learning, wellbeing, co-curricular and administration to maintain an outstanding culture where girls are nurtured, challenged and encouraged to take risks and develop grit.

Responsibilities:

  1. Foster collaboration between wellbeing and teaching and learning
  2. Engage with and support all stakeholders in the Senior School community

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the independent school sector and demonstrate prior experience and understanding of current theory and research relating to girls’ education. With outstanding verbal and written communication skills, the appointee will have been exposed to operations at the executive level and exhibit well-developed stakeholder management skills and the ability to delegate and mentor. The appointee will bring a strong focus on educational research, integrating key information into the strategic planning and decision-making processes. A strong pastoral background will be advantageous, combined with superior knowledge and skills in designing and implementing learning and wellbeing programs in a senior school setting. A strong alignment with the school’s strategy and vision and commitment to the ongoing development of education for girls is essential.
