About The Role
You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers, and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops, implements, and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice.
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty related education programs.
- Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.
This position will be triaging referrals to the Sarcoma Service and case managing patients accepted to the Service in conjunction with relevant stakeholders. Experience in orthopaedic or surgical oncology nursing will be highly regarded.
Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- 5 years full-time equivalent post-registration experience, with at least 3 years full-time equivalent experience in the specialty field.
- Ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- Extensive understanding of specialty disorders and their current management.
