We are wanting to recruit an experienced Legal Assistant to join our busy Private Client department at our Barnsley office. The prime role of the Legal Assistant is to provide direct support to the fee earners to enable them to operate at optimum efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare correspondence and legal documents through audio typing.
- Managing files, both electronic and paper-based, ensuring accurate record keeping.
- Handling incoming and outgoing post, emails, and telephone calls.
- Make appointments, arrange meetings and maintain an up-to-date diary for the fee earners.
- Attend clients both in person and on the telephone and provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm’s standards for client care.
- Other duties as required to ensure the efficient running of the office.
Key Skills
- IT literate with proficiency in Outlook and Word.
- Typing ability, ideally using digital audio systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team as well as individually, while being proactive and using own initiative.
Full time hours Monday - Friday 9:00 am - 5.15 pm. Part time hours will also be considered.
