Bury Grammar School is seeking to appoint a Catering Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated Catering Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the delivery of a high-quality catering service, supporting the preparation and service of meals to pupils, staff and visitors.

Working as part of a busy and supportive team, you will play an important role in ensuring a safe, hygienic and welcoming dining environment across the school.

The Role

  • Assist with the preparation and presentation of food and service areas to a high standard.
  • Support the preparation of food, including basic cooking and handling of prepared items.
  • Serve meals, sandwiches and beverages efficiently and professionally.
  • Undertake general kitchen and dining duties, including washing up, clearing tables and cleaning equipment and surfaces.
  • Operate the cashless catering/till system where required.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in line with Health & Safety regulations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient catering service.

Previous experience in a catering environment is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
