You will play a key role in delivering a safe, high-quality and customer-focused waste and recycling collection service, including:
- Driving waste collection vehicles safely across the Borough
- Leading, supporting and motivating your crew to deliver an efficient, high-quality service
- Assisting with loading duties when required as part of a team-based approach
- Using in-cab technology to report issues, record activity and access route information
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely in line with Council health and safety policies
- Following instructions and working together using a team-based approach
- Handling customer interactions professionally and passing feedback/messages to supervisors
- Ensuring waste is tipped correctly and safely at designated facilities
- Ensuring correct vehicle checks, safe operation, and compliance with road safety regulations
You’ll be someone who:

- Is physically capable of vehicle cleaning and assisting operatives with bins where needed
- Is willing to undertake any training relevant to the role (including NVQ Level 3 in Waste Management if required)
Hours, training and development:
- 37 hours per week, Tuesday–Friday, 06:45–16:30
- Occasional evening/weekend work to meet service needs
- Full training provided including NVQs, CPC training and induction support
- Training may take place outside normal hours and at other locations
- Opportunities to gain further skills, qualifications and career progression
- Supportive operational team and clear management structure
