About the role

Are you passionate about supporting older and vulnerable tenants to live independently in a safe, supportive environment? We’re looking for a proactive and confident Independent Living Officer to join our team, providing high-quality intensive housing scheme management across our three Extra Care sites. You will be a proactive, solution and performance focused individual who can work independently, manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes for tenants.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day housing management support within Extra Care schemes
  • Build strong relationships with tenants, families, onsite care teams, internal teams and partner agencies
  • Ensure the schemes are compliant, safe, welcoming, and well-maintained
  • Support activities and wellbeing initiatives with Engagement Team colleagues
  • Engage actively on the Extra Care allocations panel ensuring voids and allocations are let in line with the allocations processes and relevant KPIs
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous service improvement

About you

  • Experienced in managing or working within Extra Care housing or Independent Living housing settings
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Organised, reliable, and able to work independently across multiple sites
  • Confident in handling sensitive issues with empathy and professionalism
  • IT‑literate with good administrative skills
  • In possession of a full driving licence (essential for travel between schemes)

The role is 37 hours per week working across our 3 extra care schemes within Bury.
