Bury Council Leisure is looking to recruit 6 candidates to work as Gym Instructors on a permanent basis with 4 positions on a rota pattern including evenings and weekends and 2 annualised hours basis to cover when required. Rota's and working locations to be confirmed for all roles.
As a Gym Instructor for Bury Council Leisure, you'll be responsible for delivering safe, inclusive and inspiring fitness experiences that genuinely encourage active living for all our residents and visitors. This role blends expert knowledge in exercise instruction with outstanding customer service, health promotion and genuine community engagement. You'll work with a diverse range of people from first-time gym goers to experienced athletes, from exercise referral clients to older adults.
What We're Looking For:
- Qualified fitness professional with a genuine passion for helping people.
- Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification (firm requirement).
- Current Emergency at Work First Aid qualification.
- Experience of working in a health and fitness facility.
- Understanding of sales processes and ability to support membership and programme growth.
- Awareness of up-to-date trends in the health and fitness industry.
- Awareness of safeguarding responsibilities in a leisure environment.
- Evidence of excellent customer service skills.
- Good communication skills and able to engage effectively with a wide range of different customer groups.
- A high level of personal fitness to meet the physical demands of the role.
Safeguarding: This post involves working with children, young people and vulnerable adults. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and must be fully committed to safeguarding and always promoting welfare.
