Overview
Bury Leisure is looking to recruit 4 candidates to work as Duty Officers on a permanent basis with either a rota pattern including evenings and weekends or an annualised hours basis. Rota's and working locations to be confirmed.
About the Role
As a Duty Officer for Bury Leisure, you'll be one of the key operational leaders responsible for keeping our facilities running safely, efficiently and brilliantly every single day. You'll take full shift responsibility for the operation of the facility, leading a diverse and talented frontline team that includes Senior Lifeguards, Lifeguards, Gym Instructors, Swimming Instructors, Housekeeping staff, Concierge staff and Clip and Climb staff. You'll be the person who sets the tone for your team, for your customers and for the facility itself. This is a role for someone who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, someone who takes genuine pride in their facility and their team and someone who understands that well-run, welcoming leisure centres don't just serve communities; they genuinely change lives.
Responsibilities
- Take full shift responsibility for the operation of the facility and lead a frontline team.
- Set the tone for the team, customers and the facility to ensure safe, efficient and welcoming services.
What We're Looking For / Qualifications
- Proven experience in a supervisory or team leadership role in a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and a natural ability to connect with and inspire people.
- National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or commitment to gain within 3 months of appointment.
- Valid First Aid at Work qualification or commitment to gain within 3 months of appointment.
- Valid Pool Plant Operator's qualification or commitment to gain within 3 months of appointment.
- Solid understanding of health and safety legislation and its day-to-day practical application.
