In this senior officer role, you’ll provide expert advice to residents, tenants, and businesses on welfare rights, income maximisation, and debt management. You’ll help people access the support they need, stay financially resilient, and maintain their tenancies.
Your time will be split between working within the community, with some home and office working.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing expert advice on welfare benefits and financial support.
- Helping residents manage debt and maximise their income.
- Supporting the collection of housing rents in a fair and effective way.
- Working in community settings like libraries, as well as by phone and online.
- Ensuring people get help at the first point of contact.
- Supporting court-related activities such as eviction hearings and rent recovery.
- Helping improve how we collect Council Tax, Business Rates, and other payments.
- Working closely with other teams to ensure vulnerable residents are supported.
