Post Title: Health & Safety Officer
Responsible to: Health & Safety Manager
Location: STOCCAT Central Office, Bury
Salary: Grade 6 SCP 19 24 Actual Salary £32,061 – £35,412
Term of Contract: Permanent
Working pattern: Full year (52.143 weeks per year)
Hours per week: Full time (37 hours per week)
Start date: January 2026
Closing date: Sunday 5th October 2025
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of the Trust’s Health & Safety strategy.
- Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments across multiple sites.
- Advise senior leaders on statutory compliance (e.g. COSHH, RIDDOR, Fire Safety).
- Lead on accident investigations and emergency planning.
- Deliver engaging health & safety training to staff.
- Liaise with external agencies and contribute to capital projects from a safety perspective.
This is a hands-on role requiring excellent communication, initiative and the ability to work independently across our Trust’s schools.

Qualifications
- Holds a NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
- Has proven experience in a health and safety role, ideally within the education or public sector.
- Demonstrates strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Is confident delivering training and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
- Has a full UK driving license and access to a vehicle.
