About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and professional Team Officer to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will be the first point of contact for residents, tenants, and businesses, providing high-quality support and advice. Your time will be split between working within community-based settings, as well as some home and office work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver support and advice to residents, tenants, and businesses and aim for resolution at the first point of contact.
  • Maintain a high standard of professionalism in all communications, both verbal and written.
  • Deliver the accurate billing, assessment, and processing of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefit, and Council Tax Support.
  • Ensure accurate recording, storage, and sharing of relevant information.
  • Deliver the efficient and effective collection and recovery of Housing Rents, Council Tax, Business Rates, Accounts Receivable and Housing Benefit Overpayments, in line with statutory legislation and local policies.
  • Support the delivery of a holistic, pro‑active and preventative borough‑wide welfare support offer, through the allocation of any relevant crisis and financial support available to residents.
  • Support the management team with the enforcement of council tax, housing rents, business rates, accounts receivable and housing benefit overpayments including court related activities and attendance where appropriate.
