1 full time vacancy for an Early Years Support Worker role has arisen. This is a 3-year fixed term post within the Early Years Team.
Key Responsibilities
- Practical and emotional support to children and their families
- Plan and implement programmes of agreed work with children and their families
- Promote parents’ participation in sessions and their child’s development
You will be part of a skilled, friendly and supportive team and work closely with a wide range of professionals.
Essential Duties
- Work closely with Early Years settings, Children’s Centres and Early Help teams as well as other professionals
- Provide emotional support, advice and signposting to parents, carers and families
- Support parents and carers in all aspects of their child development
- Contribute to assessments and work alongside other agencies to enable parents and families to make positive changes
- Develop links with universal services and work alongside agencies to provide specific intervention
- Provide the right support at the right time for children and their families
- Plan, develop and implement universal services
Qualifications
- Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years Childcare and Education or a similar relevant area
- Experience of working with families aged 0-5
- Knowledge of early child development, the Early Years Foundation Stage and current legislation and documents relating to early years education
- Experience of working with parents/carers
- Experience of multi-agency working
- Knowledge of the 'Story So Far' or equivalent assessment tool
You will report directly to the Lead Officers for Family Hubs and Parenting: Samantha Mclaren and Becky Hunter. You will work across the borough of Bury, delivering services within our five neighbourhoods. Normal hours of work are 37 hours per week based around the usual business working week. Depending on service requirements, you may be required to work on a rota basis with some evening and weekend shifts.
