We are looking to appoint an experienced Social Worker with relevant experience in learning disability. You will be a confident communicator, quick to learn, and demonstrate sound professional knowledge. You will be trained in Court of Protection work, MCA/DoLS, safeguarding and will possess knowledge of the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act. You will work in a supportive, inclusive team focused on person‑centred support for adults with learning disabilities, aiming to enable greater independence, choice and control. You will work with social workers and provide links with commissioners to deliver innovative, rights‑based service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Carry out person‑centred assessments and develop support plans for adults with learning disabilities.
- Use a strengths‑based approach to enable individuals to manage their own health and social care needs.
- Provide direct support and guidance to service users to achieve greater independence.
- Collaborate with social workers and commissioners for innovative, rights‑based service delivery.
- Support professional development through formal and informal supervision.
Qualifications
- Relevant experience as a social worker in learning disability services.
- Sound knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, Court of Protection work and DoLS.
- Experience with safeguarding and MCA.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build rapport and trust.
