The Keep Learning Trust are seeking to appoint a positive and energetic Site Manager to work at Park View Primary School. Who we’re looking for
- Support the school to maintain a safe, effective, and efficient learning environment for all pupils, staff, and visitors.
- Opening and securing the premises; carrying out basic maintenance and repairs; managing waste; responding to emergency call-outs.
- Undertaking health and safety and compliance checks; cleaning duties; ensuring high standards of cleanliness and site security.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
- Day‑to‑day management of health and safety procedures.
- Monitoring legionella control, liaising with contractors, and undertaking routine flushing.
- Supporting fire safety arrangements and acting as a fire marshal.
- Conducting regular visual inspections of surfaces, play equipment, signage, lighting and electrical systems.
- Managing COSHH requirements and ensuring the site remains safe during adverse weather – e.g., preparing pathways during frost or snow.
Contractor and Grounds Maintenance
- Oversee contractors on site, ensuring necessary compliance checks are completed – liability insurance, DBS checks, risk assessments.
- Support the coordination and monitoring of grounds maintenance contractors.
Additional Duties
- Portering tasks: safely cleaning bodily fluids, waste management.
- Basic ground’s maintenance.
Skills & Attributes
- Proactive, works on own initiative, identifies and resolves issues independently.
- Practically minded, capable of undertaking a wide range of minor repairs.
- Maintains accurate records and demonstrates accountability for completed tasks.
Reporting
Report to the Head Teacher and the School Business Manager.
Post Details
- Grade: 7 (FTE £26,721)
- Annual Salary: £26,721
- Hours: 37 hours per week – permanent split shifts (morning + afternoon)
- Split shift schedule: Monday to Thursday – 6 am to 10 am and 2:30 pm to 6 pm; Friday – 6 am to 9:30 am and 2:30 pm to 6 pm
- Possible out‑of‑hours work: parents’ evenings, fundraising events, etc.
