With over 30 years of dedicated service, we take pride in providing compassionate care for the elderly. Our home offers 24-hour residential care for up to 23 residents. We also provide respite care for short-term placements, ensuring peace of mind for both residents and their families. About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Hamilton Rest Home. This role offers 33 hours per week, working 12-hour night shifts from 7.30pm to 7.30am with unpaid breaks of 1 hour spread throughout the night. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will bring previous care experience and a passion for supporting in a residential care setting. You will lead and inspire a team of Care Assistants to deliver exceptional, person-centred care to our residents enabling them to live well and comfortably. Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with personal care, supporting their health and wellbeing through meaningful activities, administering medication, and maintaining accurate care records and care plans. This is a varied and rewarding role where your leadership and compassion will make a real difference every day. Please note: this role does not offer visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Registered Manager.
  • Supervise care services in line with agreed standards.
  • Lead and support a team of Care Assistants to ensure high quality care is given to residents.
  • Undertake training to maintain up to date practices.
  • Monitor and provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents during night hours.
  • Support and assist with personal care (washing, dressing, and toileting).
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate care plans and records.
  • Respond to concerns in line with policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and families to ensure the best outcomes for residents.
  • Promote dignity, independence, and wellbeing always.
  • Ensure the care home remains clean, safe, and comfortable overnight.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has previous experience working in a care role and experience leading a shift (essential).
  • Holds a Level 3 qualification (essential).
  • Has knowledge of administering Medication (preferable, not essential).
  • Has experience administering medication.
  • Can manage accurate care records and planning.
  • Can lead, coach, and motivate a team to deliver high quality care.
  • Is kind, warm, and approachable.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Has effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is reliable and committed to high standards of care and personal care.
