Who We Are

Alexander Care Home is a welcoming, residential care home in Bury, supporting up to 31 residents.

We provide high-quality care for adults aged 65 and over, including those living with dementia.

Our team is passionate about creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive environment where residents feel valued and cared for.

About the Role

We are looking for an dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our friendly team at Alexander Care Home.

This role offers 33 hours per week, working 12-hour day shifts from 8am to 8pm with unpaid breaks of 1 hour spread throughout the day.

You will bring previous care experience and a passion for supporting in a residential care setting.

You will lead and inspire a team of Care Assistants to deliver exceptional, person-centred care to our residents enabling them to live well and comfortably.

Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with personal care, supporting their health and wellbeing through meaningful activities, administering medication, and maintaining accurate care records and care plans.

This is a varied and rewarding role where your leadership and compassion will make a real difference every day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Registered Manager.
  • Supervise care services in line with agreed standards.
  • Lead and support a team of Care Assistants to ensure high quality care is given to residents.
  • Undertake training to maintain up to date practices.
  • Deliver and provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to residents.
  • Support and assist with personal care (washing, dressing, and toileting)
  • Support residents with mobility and mealtimes.
  • Engage residents in meaningful activities and conversation.
  • Administer medication and maintain accurate care plans and records.
  • Respond to concerns in line with policies and procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and families to ensure the best outcomes for residents.

About You

We are looking for someone who

  • Has previous experience working in a similar residential care role (essential)
  • Holds or is working towards a Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (essential)
  • Has experience administering medication.
  • Can manage accurate care records and planning.
  • Can lead, coach, and motivate a team to deliver high quality care.
  • Is kind, warm, and approachable.
  • Works well independently and as part of a team.
  • Has effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Is reliable and committed to high standards of care.
  • Is comfortable with personal care and supporting people with dementia.
